Keigo Higashino – penulis asal Osaka, Jepang yang merupakan penulis buku fiksi terpopuler dan terlaris di Jepang. Tragedi Pedang Keadilan – Novel karangan Keigo Higashino ke-8 yang telah dibuat dalam bahasa Indonesia oleh Faira Ammadea dan yang telah dirilis pertama kali oleh Keigo pada tanggal 1 Desember 2004. Bukan hanya telah diterjemahkan dalam beberapa bahasa, novel ini juga telah difilmkan dengan judul Broken pada tahun 2014. 

Novel ini sedikit berbeda dan lebih tragis ketimbang novel-novel karangan Keigo Higashino sebelumnya. Kisah ini bermula dari seorang gadis yang bernama Nagamine Ema yang meminta izin kepada ayahnya, Nagamine Shigeki untuk pergi ke festival musim panas. Namun, pada malam itu Ema tidak pulang ke rumah melainkan beberapa hari setelahnya ditemukan mayat tubuh Ema di sungai oleh pihak kepolisian. Nagamine Shigeki, yang telah ditinggal oleh istrinya dan hanya hidup dengan putri semata wayangnya tentu merasa terpukul oleh kejadian yang menimpa putrinya. Tidak tinggal diam dan tidak puas dengan prosedur penyelidikan pihak kepolisian, Shigeki lekas membalas dendam kepada kawanan berandal SMA yang telah memperkosa dan membunuh putrinya dengan tangannya sendiri. 

Novel ini bukan hanya menceritakan tentang pembunuhan, penculikan, dan pemerkosaan, namun juga sudut pandang hukum tentang aksi kriminal yang dilakukan oleh anak di bawah umur. Disebut sebagai Tragedi Pedang Keadilan, karena di novel ini pembaca seperti meminta akan keadilan untuk para korban dari aksi kriminal tersebut. Namun, seperti yang kita ketahui, pelaku dari aksi kriminal itu adalah anak-anak di bawah umur yang mungkin tidak dihukum secara setimpal.

🙋🏻‍♀️ Aku membaca novel ini hanya tiga hari lamanya, karena plot cerita, detail, dan emosi yang tertuang sangatlah menarik dan komprehensif. Terus, menariknya novel ini sama sekali gak terasa bertele-tele, soalnya kadang novel karangan Keigo walau cerita dan plotnya seru-seru tapi kadang di tengah cerita terlalu banyak detail yang tidak terkait dengan plot utama cerita jadi terasa bertele-tele. 

🙋🏻‍♂️ Sedangkan aku merasa novel ini memiliki plot cerita yang sangat detail dan jelas, jadi pas baca aku sangat terbawa dengan ceritanya sekali. Apalagi ini ceritanya berisi tentang hal negatif yang rasanya kurang mungkin dilakukan oleh anak di bawah umur, tapi benar nyata adanya. Hal menarik lainnya dari novel ini adalah dramatisasi sebab-akibat yang terstruktur, jadi kita punya banyak perspektif dari tokoh dan penokohan yang ada di dalam ceritanya.

Keigo Higashino – an author of the most popular and bestseller fiction books from Osaka, Japan. Keigo released his first book with the title of “After School” at his 18th age in 1985. His first book was a bestseller and it changed his life from an employee of DENSO (electronic company from Japan) to being a well-known author.

Here Comes the Review

The Blade of Wandering – an 8th novel by Keigo Higashino which was released originally by Keigo on 1 December 2004 and has been made into an Indonesian version by Faira Ammadea. This novel has also been made into various languages besides Indonesian, such as English and Chinese. In 2014, this novel was adapted into a movie with “Broken” as the title.

This novel has a different and more tragic storyline from the other novels of Keigo as the story starts from a girl named Nagamine Ema who asks his father Nagamine Shigeki, to go to a summer festival. However, Ema doesn’t arrive home. A few days later, her body was found by a local police in a river. Nagamine Shigeki, who has been left behind by his wife and lives with only his daughter, is devastated by the events that happened to his daughter. Unsatisfied with the performance of investigations by the police, he take a revenge with his own hands to the thugs which has raped and killed his daughter.

This book is not only a story of murder, kidnapping and rape, but also a legal perspective on crimes committed by underage children. It is called The Blade of Wandering, because in this book the readers seem to ask for justice for the victims of these crimes. However, as we know, the perpetrators of these crimes are the underage children who may not be punished accordingly. 

Nick and Nora’s Mind

🙋🏻‍♀️ This book is only last for three days. The storyline, details, and emotions that pour into the novel make me so amused by the story in it. It's interesting that this book doesn't feel long-winded at all, because although the story and plot are exciting, sometimes in the middle of a novel by Keigo there are too many details that are not related to the main plot of the story so it feels long-winded. 

🙋🏻‍♂️ Meanwhile, I feel that this novel has a very detailed and clear story plot, so when I read it, I was very carried away by the story. Moreover, this story contains negative things that are unlikely to be done by the underage children, but they are real. Another interesting thing about this novel is the structured cause-and-effect dramatization, so we have many perspectives from the characters and characterizations in the story.
