Funiculi Funicula – Novel ini berkisah tentang sebuah kafe tua di suatu gang sempit di Tokyo yang bisa membawa pengunjungnya menjelajahi waktu. Namun, ada banyak peraturan yang harus diingat. Pertama, mereka harus tetap duduk di kursi tertentu. Kedua, mereka tidak bisa mengubah kenyataan di masa kini. Terakhir, mereka harus menghabiskan kopi yang disajikan sebelum kopi tersebut dingin. Meski peminat dari ingin kembali ke masa lalu banyak, tapi banyak pula yang enggan dengan peraturannya. 

Garis besar kisah dari novel ini memberikan kita pelajaran bahwa waktu merupakan unsur yang sangat berharga. Bagaimanapun kita tidak bisa mengulang suatu momen bersama orang-orang tersayang. Maka dari itu, kafe Funiculi Funicula menyediakan sarana untuk pengunjungnya kembali ke masa  lalu untuk sekadar menyampaikan kalimat-kalimat yang tak sempat terungkap kepada orang tersayang mereka meski mereka tidak dapat mengubah kenyataan masa kini. 

Dona Dona — Kisah spin-off dari salah satu relative pemilik kafe Funiculi Funicula tentang sebuah kafe bernama Dona Dona. Kafe yang berada di sebuah lereng di Hakodate, Hokkaido. Kafe Dona Dona juga mempunyai keajaiban yang sama dengan kafe Funiculi Funicula di Tokyo yang menawarkan jasa perjalanan melintasi waktu. 

Apakah ada yang berhasil mengubah kenyataan di masa kini? Bagaimanakah cara melintasi waktu di kafe itu? Bagaimana kalau kita terjebak dan belum menghabiskan kopi yang disajikan?

🙋🏻‍♂️Awal baca novel ini aku ngerasa novel ini terlalu slow dan lama-lama terasa bosen. Tapi seiring berjalan, tepatnya pas di tengah-tengah novel ini baru terasa seru. Banyak hal yang jadi misteri dari kisah-kisah para pelanggan kafe tersebut. Amanat yang aku bisa dapet dari novel ini adalah para tokoh di novel itu memang tidak bisa mengubah takdir di masa lalu dan masa depan mereka tapi tanpa sadar ada satu yang dapat mereka ubah, yaitu perasaan yang memengaruhi akan tindakan mereka di masa kini dan di sinilah karakter mereka mengalami perkembangan. Walaupun awalnya aku merasa bosen, tapi sampe akhir aku tetep menyukai series novel ini. 

🙋🏻‍♀️Novel ini termasuk dalam seri novel favorit aku karena ceritanya mudah dipahami tapi juga kompleks. Seri novel ini juga direkomendasikan untuk pembaca pemula karena novelnya gak tebal dan ceritanya gak bertele-tele. Kisah-kisah dari novel ini saling berkaitan dan saat baca rasanya sangat warm dan as a plus aku suka banget kopi, jadi seru deh!

Funiculi Funicula — A novel that tells us about an old cafe in a small street of Tokyo which can bring its visitors for time traveling. But, there are many rules that must be remembered. First, they must sit still on the chosen chair. Second, they can’t change reality in the present time. Third, they must finish the coffee before it gets cold. Many peoples visit the cafe for time traveling purposes, but they discouraged when hear the rules.     

The big storyline from this novel is to give us a lesson that time is a precious thing for us. Because if we lose our time, whatever the method/way is we can never bring back a moment with our lovely person. For that reason, Funiculi Funicula cafe provides a platform for its visitors for time traveling to the past with the purpose of conveying their feeling to their most lovely person in the past although they can’t change the reality in the present.

Dona Dona — A spin-off story from one of the relative’s Funiculi Funicula cafe owner which is in another cafe named Dona Dona. A cafe at the slope of Hakodate Mountain, Hokkaido. Dona Dona cafe also has the same magical power as Funiculi Funicula in Tokyo which can time traveling.  

Is there anyone who can change the present? How are the procedures to time travel in the cafe? What will happen if we are stuck and have not finished the coffee?

Nick’s and Nora’s Mind

🙋🏻‍♂️The first time I read these novel, I felt the storyline is very bored. But by the time I read these novel series, in the middle of the book to be precise. It started to feel amusing. Many things that become a mystery from the story of the cafe visitors. The positive message that I got from this novel is the characters from the novel indeed can’t change their past and future but there’s one thing that they unconsciously changed, it is the feeling that will influence their actions in the present and in this stage they got their character development. Although I felt bored at the start, I still love and read this novel until the end.

🙋🏻‍♀️These novels are also my favorite novel because the story are very easy to understand but still it is complex. These novels are also recommended to beginner readers because the novel is not thick and the story is straightforward. The stories from these novels are related to each other and when you read it, you will feel warm and I love coffee so much so it is a plus score for me!
