The Devotion of Suspect X – Yasuko Hanaoka seorang Ibu tunggal yang memiliki anak perempuan bernama Misato Hanaoka. Mereka hidup dengan damai dengan Yasuko bekerja di toko nasi bento. Suatu hari, ayah kandung Misato yang bernama Togashi datang menghampiri Yasuko untuk meminta uang secara paksa. Togashi yang memang berwatak keras dan kasar mengancam Yasuko dan Misato, singkat cerita Ibu dan anak perempuan itu akhirnya membunuh Togashi karena ingin mempertahankan diri.
Ishigami, seorang guru matematika yang juga merupakan tetangga sebelah apartemennya mendengar keributan dari kediaman Yasuko, ia langsung berinisiatif menawarkan pertolongan kepada Yasuko untuk menutupi pembunuhan tersebut.

🙋🏻♂️ Novel ini adalah novel pertama yang mengenalkanku pada novel terjemahan Jepang dan karya-karya Keigo sensei, tentunya ini rekomendasi dari Nora. Awalnya aku harus beradaptasi buat bacanya, karena nama tokoh dari novel terjemahan Jepang sangat asing kubaca dan agak sulit untuk diingat. Namun, seiring waktu berjalan dan karena plot ceritanya juga bagus aku lama-lama terbiasa. Plot di novel ini luar biasa, pastinya orang-orang bakal suka gimana cara Ishigami menyembunyikan pembunuhan ini dan mengelabui polisi. Profesor Yukawa juga ngga kalah pinter dari Ishigami untuk mengungkap cara pembunuhannya. Tapi yang paling aku suka adalah keteguhan dari kesetiaan Ishigami buat Yasuko sampai akhir hayatnya.
🙋🏻♀️ Kesetiaan Mr. X, cerita tentang seseorang yang jatuh cinta dengan tetangganya. Novel ini seru sekali, karena detektif dan pembunuh sama-sama pintar. Sang detektif pintar menebak alur pembunuhan sedangkan si pembunuh pintar menutupi kasus pembunuhan sang tetangga. Sangat aku sarankan buat kalian untuk baca, karena novel ini tidak begitu tebal dan kisahnya tidak begitu kompleks.

One day, Misato's biological father named Togashi comes to Yasuko to ask for money by force. Togashi, who has a hard and violent character, threatens Yasuko and Misato. Long story short, the mother and daughter finally kill Togashi because they want to defend themselves.
Ishigami, a mathematics teacher who is also the next door neighbor of their apartment hear the commotion from Yasuko's residence, he immediately takes the initiative to offer help to Yasuko to cover up the murder.
Will Ishigami successfully fool the police? How will he cover up the murder?

Nick and Nora’s Mind
🙋🏻♂️ This was the first novel that introduced me to Japanese translated novels and Keigo sensei's works and of course this was a recommendation from Nora. At first I had to adapt to reading it, because the names of the characters from Japanese translation novels were very unfamiliar to me and a bit difficult to remember. However, as time went by and because the plot was also good, I gradually got used to it. The plot in this novel is amazing, of course people will love how Ishigami hides this murder and fools the police. Professor Yukawa is as clever as Ishigami in uncovering the murder. But what I like the most is the constant of Ishigami's loyalty to Yasuko until the end of his life.
🙋🏻♀️ Kesetiaan Mr. X, it’s a story about a man who falls in love with his neighbor. This novel is very exciting, because the detective and the murderer are both smart. The detective is good at guessing the plot of the murder while the killer is good at covering up the neighbor's murder. I highly recommend you to read it, because this novel is not so thick and the story is not so complex.
