Verity – Cerita dimulai dengan Lowen Ashleigh, seorang perempuan yang melihat kecelakaan di depan matanya, kemudian datanglah seorang lelaki bernama Jeremy Crawford untuk menenangkan dirinya dan menawarkan baju bersih karena baju milik Lowen terciprat darah oleh korban kecelakaan tadi. Takdir berkata itu bukanlah pertemuan terakhir mereka, ternyata memang Jeremy sedang mencari Lowen untuk menawarkannya pekerjaan sesuai keahliannya yaitu menulis. Lowen, seorang penulis yang sedang dilanda kondisi finansial yang sangat buruk tentunya tertarik dengan tawaran dari Jeremy Crawford. Deskripsi pekerjaannya adalah Lowen harus melanjutkan serial novel yang sangat populer yang sebelumnya dikerjakan oleh istri dari Jeremy yang bernama Verity.
Verity, istri dari Jeremy dan juga penulis asli dari serial novel yang dikerjakan oleh Lowen sempat mengalami kecelakaan mobil yang mengakibatkan ia lumpuh total, sehingga ia hanya bisa berbaring di tempat tidurnya.
Setelah Lowen menerima tawaran pekerjaan tersebut ia harus mulai beradaptasi dengan lingkungan kerjanya yaitu rumah Jeremy dan Verity. Jeremy menyarankan Lowen tinggal di rumahnya dengan tujuan agar ia tidak sulit dalam mengerjakan novel tersebut. Namun, seiring Lowen beradaptasi dan menyelami isi kepala Verity melalui cerita-ceritanya, ia menemukan sesuatu yang janggal dan mengerikan yang akan menuntunnya untuk mengungkap kebenaran di dalam rumah Jeremy dan Verity.

🙋🏻♂️ Wahhh novel ini parahh bagus banget plot twistnya. Awalnya memang aku agak skeptis karena pada awalnya novel ini terasa masuk genre romansa. Tapi ternyata hal-hal yang ditemukan Lowen sangat mengubah alur dan genre dari novel ini. Marah, sedih, ga bisa berkata-kata deh sama plot yang disusun sama penulisnya. Sampe akhirnya aja buku ini masih bikin kita bertanya-tanya “mana sih yang bener di sini?” Dari penokohan, alur dan aspek dasar buku lainnya tentu sangat bagus dan kompleks. Aku sangat merekomendasikan novel ini kepada kalian yang ingin membaca buku berbahasa Inggris untuk yang pertama kalinya.
🙋🏻♀️ Buatku, ini novel Colleen Hoover terbaik. Ceritanya bukan hanya perihal relationship melainkan juga misteri, thriller, dan (somehow) kriminal. SERU BANGET. Verity — The story begins with Lowen Ashleigh, a woman who sees an accident in front of her eyes, then there a man named Jeremy Crawford comes to help Lowen to calm herself down and he also gives Lowen a clean shirt because lots of blood splatters on her shirt from the accident earlier. However, it is not their last encounter, Jeremy actually was searching for Lowen to offer her a writing job. Lowen certainly accepts the job from Jeremy because she is facing a really bad financial condition as a writer. Jeremy tells the job that Lowen must continue a very popular novel series by Verity, his wife.
Verity, Jeremy's wife and also the original author of the novel series, had a car accident in the past that left her completely paralyzed, so what she can only do is lie on her bed.
After Lowen accepted the job offer, she had to start adapting to her work environment in Jeremy and Verity's house. Jeremy suggested that Lowen stay at his house so that she could concentrate more on the novel. However, as Lowen adapts and dives into Verity's head through the novels, she finds something odd and horrifying that will lead her to uncover the truth inside the house.

🙋🏻♂️ Wow this novel has a really good plot twist. In the beginning I was a bit skeptical because at first this novel felt like it was in the romance genre. But it turns out that the things Lowen found really changed the plot and genre of this novel. I was angry, sad, and speechless at the plot that the author had put together. This novel still makes us wonder until the end. The characterization, plot and other basic aspects of the novel are certainly very good and complex. I highly recommend this novel to those of you who want to read an English book for the first time.
🙋🏻♀️ For me, this is the best Colleen Hoover novel. The story is not only about relationships but also mystery, thriller, and (somehow) crime. IT'S SO THRILLING. As far as I know, on TikTok or X there are hashtags #TeamManuscript #TeamLetter because this novel still has a mysterious ending.

This novel does not make us feel bored at all, you can immediately understand the plot of the story even though the plot is actually complex. The English in this novel is also very easy to understand!
