Dia Adalah Kakakku – Sebuah keluarga yang terdiri dari enam anggota, yaitu Mamak Lainuri, Laisa anak pertama, serta keempat adiknya yaitu Dalimunte, Ikanuri, Wibisana, dan Yashinta tinggal di Lembah Lahambay. Lembah di tengah pedalaman hutan dan tempatnya sangat terpencil. Kak Laisa, sang putri sulung Mamak Lainuri telah putus sekolah agar adiknya dapat melanjutkann pendidikan lebih layak. Keempat adiknya sangat sayang sekali kepada Kak Laisa, namun tetap ada yang suka membantah ucapan Kak Lais yaitu, Ikanuri dan Wibisana. Dua adik Kak Laisa yang sangat susah sekali dinasehati. Kemudian ada Dalimunte, Kakak dari Ikainuri dan Wibisana serta adik terpintar Kak Laisa yang sangat menyukai sains dan kimia, terakhir ada Yashinta, adik terkecil dari lima bersaudara tersebut yang sangat suka dengan hewan.

Singkat cerita, semua adik Kak Lais dapat menjadi orang sukses di masa depan, namun Kak Laisa tiba-tiba menelepon mereka untuk datang ke kampung tempat tinggal mereka dahulu dengan terdengar tergesa-gesa. Ada apakah dengan Kak Laisa?

Opini Nick

Ini salah satu novel yang bikin aku nangis. Wah, penokohan dari tokoh Kak Laisa ini sangat-sangat istimewa, apalagi ceritanya di dalam novel ini Kak Laisa bukanlah saudari kandung dari keempat adiknya tersebut. Yang paling bikin sedih dari novel ini adalah Kak Laisa bener-bener mengalah sama adiknya dari aspek apapun seperti pada aspek pendidikan Kak Laisa putus sekolah dengan tujuan ia membantu Mamak mencari uang agar adik-adiknya bisa leluasa bersekolah, kemudian Kak Laisa juga mengalah untuk dilangkahi dalam menikah karena pada waktu itu belum ada yang melamar Kak Laisa, pun ada Kak Laisa hanya fokus kepada keluarganya agar keluarganya dapat memiliki kehidupan yang layak.

Buku ini cocok banget untuk kalian yang baru tertarik untuk baca, karena alur cerita dari buku ini sederhana ngga bikin kalian tuh mikir banget. Tapi, tetep banyak banget nilai positif yang bisa kalian ambil dari buku ini.

Dia Adalah Kakakku – A family of six members, namely Mamak Lainuri, Laisa the first child, and her four younger siblings, Dalimunte, Ikanuri, Wibisana, and Yashinta, live in the Lahambay Valley. The valley is in the middle of the forest and is very narrow. Kak Laisa, the eldest daughter of Mamak Lainuri, has dropped out of school so that her younger siblings can continue their education. Her four younger siblings are very fond of Kak Laisa, but there are still those who like to argue Kak Laisa's words, namely, Ikanuri and Wibisana. The two of Kak Laisa's younger siblings who are very difficult to advise. Then there is Dalimunte, Ikainuri and Wibisana's older brother and Kak Laisa's smartest brother who loves science and chemistry, and finally there is Yashinta, the smallest of the five siblings who loves animals.

Long story short, all of Kak Laisa's younger siblings could become successful people in the future, but Kak Laisa suddenly called them to come to the village where they used to live in a hurry. What's wrong with Kak Laisa?

Inside Nick’s Mind

This is one of those novels that makes me cry. Wow, the characterization of the character Kak Laisa is very, very special, especially because the story tells us that Kak Laisa is not the biological sister of the four younger siblings. What makes me cry about this novel is Kak Laisa really sacrifice everything for her younger siblings from any aspect, such as in the aspect of education, Kak Laisa dropped out of school with the purpose of helping Mamak earn money so that her younger siblings could freely go to school, then Kak Laisa also sacrifices for being stepped over in marriage because at that time no one had proposed to Kak Laisa, therefore Kak Laisa only focused on her family so that her family could have a decent life.

This book is perfect for those of you who are just interested in reading, because the storyline of this book is simple and doesn't make you really think. But, there are still a lot of positive values that you can take from this book.
